The 1950s

My three years at Manchester  University on the preclinical Medical/Dental Course are described in this section.  The student life at Manchester is described including details of our “Diggs”, social life and work. It was a happy time with many good friendships.
There are details about the clinical medicine course in Leeds  between 1953 and 1956.  Information of work, friends and teaching staff. Also a very happy time.

The next section describes the work as a preregistration Paediatric House Officer at the Leeds General Infirmary.  Very hard but very also a very good time.  The six months as Thoracic Surgery house surgeon was also good and will be described in due course.

Two years National Service in the Royal Army Medical Corps in Malta between 1957-59 as a families medical officer is described in some detail in the final section. This was great experience and a very happy time.

Obviously I enjoyed the Fifties!!
