In this section the nation and individual households prepare for war with Germany. Some information about my brother Douglas after he left school prior to the army. Information on schools and their various response to war particularly Moorlands School with some mention of two old boys with whom I had later contact, Ian Adams and Rev. Peter Adgie.
There is information about Filey where we had a flat during the war years. There is more information in Filey past and present as this town was like second home.
The section on Giggleswick School 1944-1949 describes briefly my time as a pupil there. I don’t have the enthusiasm to go into school life in detail at this time but there were many good times! However, I do keep returning to it when describing various happenings at Giggleswick during the significant number of years I was there and it was my home from the age of thirteen!
